Endless eight. Steins;Gate. A lot of words relevant only to anime fans popped up in my head when I watched the first episode of Boku dake ga Inai Machi, or also known as Erased. Fujinuma Satoru’s revival threatens to repeat events over and over again since he’s reliving the past with chances of changing them.
Thank goodness none of events were repeated and Satoru’s revival still happens.
In my opinion, Steins;Gate was great fun. The interactions among all the characters and the mystery behind gooey banana, I like. Heck, Chaos;Head was interesting even though it was only during the first half. It could’ve been a lot better. It had potential. So needless to say, I had high hopes for Robotics;Notes. I was eager to know what’s the mystery this time around.
Maybe I was a little too hopeful, a little too eager.
It definitely helps to have sequels that lighten up my mood in the upcoming anime season. Big names like Bakuman, Hidamari Sketch and Jormungand are some of the series I look forward to. Having said that, there are few new series that caught my attention. Needless to say, it’ll be a very busy season for me. And that hasn’t even include the ones that aren’t on my list, the ones that I’ll need to sample the first few episodes before making my final decision. Oh boy, oh boy…
Without further ado, I shall now reveal my list! And the full anime list can be found here.
When I held GSC’s 1/8 scale Makise Kurisu for the first time, I felt like I’m holding an Oscar. Not that I ever hold one before, but that thought really crossed my mind. Weird.
The noted figure manufacturer Good Smile Company first introduced this mighty gorgeous scale figure of Makise Kurisu in Summer Wonfes 2011 and I immediately fell in love with it. Well, it was unpainted when I first saw it but gosh, I love that pose! It was the most beautiful (unpainted) figure I ever saw. And I was dying to have one. Now here it is in my possession. I’m so happy.
Alrighty. It’s the end of 2011. Do you know what this means? It’s time for my personal list of best anime in 2011. This list contains anime that has completed its run within Winter 2011, Spring 2011, Summer 2011 and Fall 2011. Of course, it has to be an anime that I’ve seen. And that also means any other anime that I saw this year but did not debut and complete or complete (debuted in Fall 2010) within those periods are not taken into consideration. As always, I’ll list out only five on my very short list. The reasons for the very short list are 1) I don’t have a long list of anime to pick from and 2) I only make sure the ones I really, really like make the list.
*Drum Rolls* Hoshiko’s best anime of 2011 is….
Doo du doooo. Did I get it right – Mayuri’s trademark greeting? Picked up Steins;Gate right after it was completed. With all the hype that was going around it, how can I resist watching this? Lucky for me, I had one long weekend last week to marathon the series. With my knee injured during a badminton match, I can’t really do much but to stay at home.
