Steins;Gate’s Makise Kurisu

IMG_6535

When I held GSC’s 1/8 scale Makise Kurisu for the first time, I felt like I’m holding an Oscar. Not that I ever hold one before, but that thought really crossed my mind. Weird.

The noted figure manufacturer Good Smile Company first introduced this mighty gorgeous scale figure of Makise Kurisu in Summer Wonfes 2011 and I immediately fell in love with it. Well, it was unpainted when I first saw it but gosh, I love that pose! It was the most beautiful (unpainted) figure I ever saw. And I was dying to have one. Now here it is in my possession. I’m so happy.

One Piece’s Roronoa Zoro

I took these pictures a looooong time ago. I remember posting it in Figure.fm couple years ago but maybe under a different username or something. I was going through my folders in my trusty lappie when I stumbled upon this. I figured since I’ve never actually posted the pictures on this blog, I might as well do it now.

Oh, how can I forget to introduce this figure? It’s MegaHouse’s Excellent Model Portrait of Pirates “Strong Edition” Roronoa Zoro Version 2. Phew, that’s a long name. Without further ado, here are the rest of pictures of this lovely figure.

It’s Not Your Ordinary Penguin

Feeling uninspired to write anything this week, I shall then share with you all the little penguin that has found its way to me recently. It’s papercraft, by the way. Very much similar to the one I posted here, but with a tiny little difference.

Unlike the previous papercraft, I’m not 100% sure if this is a penguin from Mawaru Penguindrum. It does look similar. Anyways, it’s adorable so it doesn’t matter.

Angel Beats! Yuri

After a long wait, lo and behold, my Angel Beats! Yuri has arrived. Another product of Good Smile Company to my collection. What I like about this particular figure is her pose. It’s dynamic. Her skirt, hair, ribbon flowing. It’s beautiful. It’s as if she just whipped out her gun and is ready to shoot…even though she’s smiling. >.<

I missed the pre-order of this figure. I must’ve missed it entirely until the pre-order is closed! Cuz by the time I noticed her, she’s about to be released. She’s sold out from a lot of shops in Malaysia but lucky me – with the help of a local figure store, MomoToys, I back-ordered her.

How Willing Are You To Lend Others Your Collections?

It’s a simple question. It could be anything actually, but in this post I’ll discuss more on anime DVDs/BDs, manga, light novels and games. Maybe even game consoles like PSP and figures. It has to be something you hold dear to.

It’s not like I’m a stingy and being mean that I dislike lending others my collections, but the truth is it comes with a risk. The moment an anime DVD is off my shelf and into my friends or families’ hands, its fate is not known till it safely returns to its home.

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Today is Chinese New Year’s eve. Tomorrow is the first day of Chinese New Year, the beginning of the Year of Rabbit.

Here, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all my readers a Happy Chinese New Year!  Have a prosperous and great Year of Rabbit.

恭喜发财!!

P.S This picture is taken in Super Vivid mode. The colors are well, vivid.

Figurine Criteria

Looking on my desk and a shelf right now, I realize my figurine collection has expanded rapidly over just one year. It all started when I gave in and purchased my first Nendoroid last January.

If I’m to compare myself with other veteran and serious figurine collectors, my loot last year is very little. Still, I think I spent a little too much on my newfound hobby. I’ve done some rough mental calculations last night and decidedly I’ve spent approximately 1.2k on figurines alone last year. I’m lucky that some of the figurines I own are from friends and family. Otherwise, the amount would be more.

Nendoroid Puchi K-ON!

My Nendoroid Puchi has arrived on Wednesday after a few weeks since its released in Japan. I ordered it from a Malaysian-based figurine seller. The price was reasonable and I don’t have to worry about having to deal with the customs. Customs and currency exchange rates are the reasons I’m not very keen on buying figurines from well-known international sites.

By the way, I bought these from Dinokun.com Otaku House. He’s (I think it’s a he?) a very efficient, friendly and trustworthy seller. I recommend him to anyone who wants to buy anime figurines in Malaysia and who are like me – doesn’t want to deal with customs and whatnot. He’s also available at Lowyat Forum under the nickname porkchop. Just so you know, I recommend this seller willingly – without any special treatment or whatnot from the seller.

Angel Beats! Set 01

So…I bought Good Smile Company’s Angel Beats! Set 01 last month at KL’s XL-Shop.Com after it was released. I got this set cuz I’ve got itchy hands. Since I’m free this morning with nothing planned I thought I might as well play with my camera, Canon S95. I switched back to Poster mode after playing around with Nostalgic mode for a few weeks. It seems I like any other modes that is not normal. Fun!
